Privacy Policy

This policy explains how nBranches Ltd (One Owner) handles personal data when you use One Owner. We designed the product to collect as little as possible: country-level location only, metadata stripped from photos and registrations hidden by default.

1. Who we are

One Owner is run by nBranches Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, doing business as One Owner. We are the data controller for personal data processed through One Owner. nBranches Ltd also runs other products; each has its own privacy policy and your One Owner account is kept separate from them.

2. Data we collect

Account details: email address, sign-in method, handle, display name and optional profile photo.
Location: country and, optionally, region. We never collect a precise location.
Garage content: cars, specifications, stories, photos, service records, suppliers, costs, reminders, MOT history and documents you upload, such as invoices and service stamps.
Registration plates: stored encrypted and hidden publicly unless you choose to show them.
Community activity: likes, reports you submit, ideas and messages you send to support.
Waitlist: if you join the waitlist, your email address and which launch updates you asked for.
Technical data: basic logs needed to keep the service secure and working, such as request times, device and browser type, and error reports.

3. How we use your data

To provide your garage, collections, show cards, exports and reminders.
To look up official MOT and vehicle tax information when you ask us to.
To keep the service safe, prevent abuse and enforce fair-use limits.
To reply to support requests and send essential service messages, such as security and account notices.
To send launch updates you signed up for. Every update includes a way to unsubscribe, or you can email hello@nbranches.com.
To improve the product using aggregated, non-identifying insights, such as which makes are most popular. These never identify you or your car.

4. Legal bases

Under UK GDPR we rely on contract to provide the service you sign up for, legitimate interests for security, abuse prevention and product improvement, consent where you choose to publish content or show a registration publicly, and legal obligation where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.

5. Public collections

Collections are private by default. If you publish a collection, the cars, photos, stories and display name in it become visible to other members and anyone with the link. Your email, region, private notes, documents, service costs and hidden registrations are never shown publicly. You can make a collection private again at any time.

6. Photos and documents

Photos are resized and their metadata, including any GPS coordinates, is removed before upload. Documents and photos are kept in private storage and shared only through short-lived secure links.

8. International transfers

Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or approved safeguards such as the International Data Transfer Agreement.

9. Retention and account deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Account settings. When you do:

Your collections are hidden immediately and you can no longer sign in.
For 30 days you can recover the account by emailing hello@nbranches.com.
After 30 days your account, cars, photos, documents and records are permanently deleted.
Backups roll off within a further 30 days. Reports about other content may be kept where needed for safety.

10. Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, export, restrict or delete your data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Email hello@nbranches.com and we will reply within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

11. Security

We use encryption in transit, encrypted registration storage, private file storage, per-account access rules and rate limits. No system is perfect; tell us straight away if you notice anything suspicious.

12. Cookies and local storage

We only use essential storage to keep you signed in and remember preferences such as theme and menu layout. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

13. Children

One Owner is a garage record for car enthusiasts and has no chat, messaging or friend features. Anyone can use it, but if you are under 13 you need a parent or guardian's permission, and they should set up and manage the account with you.

Collections are private by default. We recommend that younger members keep them private and do not add personal details to public pages. If a parent or guardian believes a child has given us personal information without permission, email us and we will delete it.

14. Changes to this policy

We will post updates here and, for material changes, let you know in the app before they take effect.
